Its true that there are several ways involve in speeding up a PC. But then again, these uncomplicated sacrifices are always worth it. Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows: > Its irritating to wait for menu delays. Decrease the time it takes for menu transitions by right-clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Select the Effects tab. Deselect the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing Properties, clicking the Appearance tab, selecting the Effects option and uncheck Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Select OK. > Speed up Windows Start Up by removing out the softwares you dont utilize at start-up. For Windows 98 users, this could be done by going to Start and clicking Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button Click the Start up tab then unchoose the applications you wish to stopthrough the startup. You see, you can only speed start up Windows if you decrease the programs and applications that your computer needs to load. > Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. Look for the defragement option on the System Tools. Make sure that you give a time for defragging. Running various software as the same time as defragging confines the process itself. > Selecting to install your programs would be best if you always experience errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. Moreover, be sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Reinstalling your software could run for as long as an hour or more. > This is a very basic tip that you should regularly do: Remove any unused programs. Programs, whether you are using them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent using them, then is there still a need to keep them? |
